The following is a story of Voltron that I made up based on the T.V. cartoon Voltron by World Events Productuons. I did not have World Productions' permission to do the story and therefore it does not have World Events Productions' endorsement. The story was read over the air by a radio station because it was a description of why my favorite song was my favorite song which was something they had asked their listeners to write in about. Any [brackets] within the following story indicate story details that were not read over the radio.

Dear Q102 Weekly Hot Hits Countdown,

My all time favorite song is "I think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany which I like for a really strange reason.

The song reminds me of a story I thought up when I was in ninth grade about a girl named Laurana [who I imagine to be the daughter of Sven and Romelle] and a boy named Mark [who I imagine to be the son of Keith and Allura]. They first met when Mark was 10 and she was 9 and he was visiting her planet. Laurana had long blond curly hair down to the back of her knees, blue eyes [maybe I'd change her eyes to be green], and long fingernails and Mark had dark almost black eyes and black hair that was longish in the back. Anyway, Laurana and her parents moved to Mark's planet because Laurana's parents and Mark's parents were good friends [Princess Romelle didn't need to remain on her planet because her brother Prince Bandor was now King and he ruled the planet].

Ever since they first saw each other Mark and Laurana felt a strange attraction for one another, but never said anything because they just met and hardly knew each other. Also Laurana got along well with Mark's friends Nick [son of Lance and Karla -- Keith's sister see also another great possible girlfriend character for Lance, Sam, a character according to a writer of Voltron stories that I only know as Allura that has her website at Geocities and an address is http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Garden/4379/book2.htm ], Bruce [son of Hunk and Darla -- a drule character I created that Hunk saved and she had a change of heart], and Dennis [son of Pidge and Tammy -- she was a character that was once in the green lion with Pidge on a cartoon episode and I imagine that they later marry] and they become her friends. That is with the exception of Nick who was Mark's best friend. Nick liked Laurana when he first saw her, but after he got to know her he was always a little skeptical of her, but he didn't hate her.

Even after getting to know each other Mark and Laurana didn't tell their feelings for the other. Laurana didn't because Mark may think her as being stupid and he and his friends would desert her. Mark didn't say anything because Laurana may tell his friends and they would desert him thinking he was stupid. And they both thought along the line of if they did really love a person they would tell her or him no matter what the consequences, but what's the rush? Why not just wait until they're teenagers and just have fun being close friends for now? And in their own separate thoughts that's what Mark and Laurana decided to do.

By the time they were teenagers Mark and Laurana had had so many good times being just friends that the thought of telling each other they loved each other never came up. By this time Mark, Nick, Laurana, Bruce, and Dennis had taken their parents' places in defending their planet against the evil forces of the universe who wanted to enslave the planet. [Between the choices of the most skillful fliers of Mark or Laurana, it was decided basically by Laurana that it would be best to have Mark as the captain of the team. Mark flew black lion, Laurana flew blue lion, Bruce flew yellow lion, Nick flew red lion, and Dennis flew green lion].

Once during a battle on another planet Laurana was hit hard and it was Nick's fault [Mark had split from the team to attack from a different area and he left Laurana as second in command in charge, but after Mark left, Nick insisted on being in command and insisted that Mark was making a mistake and Nick commanded the team into a formation that was dangerous for the blue lion because Laurana couldn't see what was going on because red lion was directly in front of her and a powerful laser cannon was fired at red lion that was powerful enough to even blow black lion apart with one hit and Nick moved out of the way and it hit blue lion because Laurana had no time to get out of the way, but fortunately it is the blue lion that contains the emergency booster power for Voltron according to a cartoon episode]. In fact, if Laurana wouldn't have been smart enough to use all the energy in her ship on the ship's shields, the ship would have blown apart. Then Laurana crash landed her ship in a lake. She got out, swam to shore, and waited on a high plateau for the other ships to land.

After landing Mark, Nick, Bruce, and Dennis got out of their ships and for the first time ever Mark hit Nick in the face knocking him to the ground [actually the first time was before either of them were even a year old yet and it was after that that Nick always respected Mark].Then he gave Nick a short lecture. He picked up Nick to hit him again, but Laurana grabbed Mark's arm and stopped him. Mark dropped Nick and walked away, still angry, and went into a nearby cave to think and cool down. Laurana tried to comfort Nick's hurt feelings.

Aftr talking with Nick, Laurana went into the cave to get Mark because enemy fighters could come at any time and attack. She found Mark and suddenly enemy fighters did attack. Mark and Laurana tried to run out of the cave, but a laser hit the top of it and it started caving in on them. [This is the part that especially reminds me of the song "I Think We're Alone Now."] Mark and Laurana turned around and holding onto one another's hand, they ran into the dark trying to outrun the cave-in. Suddenly, Mark felt a rock hit the back of one of his boots so he grabbed Laurana and they tumbled to the ground out of the way of the falling rocks. The cave-in had stopped and Mark and Laurana were alone now.

They took their flashlights from their belts and looked around. Then they walked onward into the cave searching for a way out until a day later, they found an underground spring. Following it downstream they came to a place where it flowed into a cave with no room to keep a person's head above the water and breath. Then they saw a flash of light that by chance the water had allowed to get through along the top of the cave.

Mark and Laurana were both good swimmers and could hold their breath for a long time so they swam through the cave and at the end of it they found themselves in the same lake Laurana had landed her ship in.

Well they found out all the other ships were gone so they took Laurana's ship, which had resupplied its energy, to rescue their friends. In the process of doing so Laurana had been hurt severely and should have and would have died if it hadn't been for Mark's prayers as he got her back to their planet for some medical care. [Laurana had lost an incredible amount of blood after she had rescued Mark from falling into a deep pit by pulling him up on a double edged sword and she had protection on her hands, but the sword eventually cut through and into her hands and because of something strange about her blood, she couldn't have a blood transfusion because someone else's blood would kill her and much later it is discovered that her mutation is common in witches and was what enabled her to have strange abilities such as cuts that would heal quickly (although the blood she lost after saving Mark still should have killed her), fingernails that easily carved wood, and strange properties about her hair.]

Laurana had been unconscious so whan she became conscious, Mark finally told her how much he loved her and Laurana told Mark how much she loved him. Then they kissed for the first time. He was 16 and she was 15.

Later when they were around the age 18 and 19 Mark and Laurana married and through good times and bad they stuck together.

It's because of this story that "I Think We're Alone Now" is my all time favorite song.
