Story by Sheila Bliss

The following is a story of Voltron I made up based on the T.V. cartoon Voltron by World Events Productions. I did not have World Events Productions' permission to do the story and therefore it does not have World Events Productions' endorsement.

While Keith had left Allura in charge of the battle defending Galaxy Garrison from Doom fighter ships, he had pursued Lotor’s private fighter ship, the Revenge, that he had noticed was strangely heading away from the battle scene. As Keith continued to follow Lotor, his focus was suddenly interrupted by the eerie feeling of how familiar the scenery below him was beginning to look. In fact, the feelings had so distracted him that he didn’t notice Hagar in the main Doom flag ship nearing from behind him.

“Home!” Keith suddenly blurted out aloud. “What’s he doing here?”

He saw Lotor’s ship lowering in altitude and noticed his parents’ house ahead and below them.

“Sis!” exclaimed Keith as he felt a panic inside himself that he had rarely felt before. It was like experiencing the time it seemed that Allura had died in his arms all over again. He sped up to try to stop Lotor from what he feared he was about to do. He didn’t dare fire at the ship. It was already to close to the house.

As Lotor approached closer, he suddenly blasted the house to smithereens.

“Nooooo!” lamented Keith, his voice filled with sorrow. Then he saw a figure stand up from a garden near the house. She appeared to be dressed in a lavender sundress.

“Sis!” stated Keith in relief. “Thank God she wasn’t in the house!”

Lotor had spotted her also and wasted no time in flying even lower to pursue her.

“What’s he doing?” questioned Keith in a horrified tone as he watched his sister’s attempt to escape by running for some nearby fields.

Lotor found himself enchanted by the beauty of Keith’s sister. At the sight of her, his desire for revenge was replaced by a desire to possess her for himself. Merla didn’t satisfy his desire for Allura, but his heart hoped that somehow this new woman would make him forget Allura, if only he could possess her!

Lotor landed his ship not far behind her as she ran on. Then he left his ship and proceeded to run after her.

Keith was still fairly far behind in black lion. He fired a shot at Lotor, but missed. Then as he was in closer range, he didn’t dare fire again because Lotor was too close to his sister.

“Lotor, you fool!” exclaimed Hagar aloud to herself. “Victory will be lost because of your weakness for a pretty face!”

Then Hagar released a robeast.

“I was saving this for Galaxy Garrison,” Hagar continued talking to herself as if she were talking to Lotor. “Now it will be wasted to save you from your blunder.”

Keith’s next strategy was to fly in close enough to perhaps knock Lotor over with black lion. But as Keith approached even closer, suddenly he heard a monstrous roar followed by a terrific impact on black lion, knocking it off coarse. Keith regained control of black lion and saw himself faced against a towering robeast. It had knocked black lion away from Lotor with one of its lobster like arms. In fact, everything about it was like a lobster from the bee-bee looking lobster eyes on stalks to an immense trailing lobster tail. It was unlike a lobster in that it had two monstrous non-lobster like legs to stand on and it had no other arms or legs except two with lobster pinchers at the end.

Keith looked back where Lotor and his sister had been and they were both lying flat forward on the ground. They had fallen after black lion was knocked out of the way. He watched his sister begin to get up, but Lotor was already getting up right after her. He lunged forward and pulled her back down to the ground. She desperately grasped at the grass ahead of her as she tried to pull herself free of her captor. Lotor grasped the bottom of her mid length dress and tore a piece of it off on the right side, revealing more of her leg. Then he turned her over and grasping her flailing arms, he tied her hands together in front of her with the material from her own dress.

“That scum!” admonished Keith. “It’d been better if he just stunned her with a laser gun than to put her through all that!”

Then Keith noticed an arm of the robeast grasping for black lion. He had to take his attention off his sister’s situation to deal with the imminent danger being posed against the black lion. He began evasive maneuvers just in time to avoid the robeast. Then he made an emergency call only to Allura.

“Keith,” acknowledged Allura as he showed up on her screen and in the next instant she realized the emotional tension he was hiding behind his stoic expression. “What’s wrong?”

“If things are under control there, you and the team need to get here fast. There’s a robeast here and I can’t leave the situation.”

“We’ve got everything under control here,” said Allura, and yet she recognized that troubles ran much deeper than just a robeast where Keith was. “What’s wrong, Keith? Why can’t you leave?”

“He’s got my sister!” answered Keith, sorrow breaking through in his voice while he managed to hold back the tears in his suddenly watery eyes. “We need Voltron. Get here fast if you can.”

After Keith broke the communication, Allura’s heart ached over the situation. But she knew getting the rest of the team emotional over it wouldn’t help. Instead she just informed the rest of the team that there was a robeast and that Keith needed them.

Keith continued to elude the robeast with the black lion and fired weaponry at it when opportunities came up to do so. One lion against a robeast, even the black lion, which is the largest lion, posed very poor odds. Keith knew if he wasn’t careful, black lion was likely to be overcome and destroyed. He only needed to last out until the other lions got there. Then Voltron could be used.

While Keith was dodging the robeast, Lotor had carried Keith’s kicking and screaming sister back to his ship the Revenge and put her inside where she wouldn’t interfere with his flying. Once in the spaceship she quit struggling and screaming. They were soon up in the air and she saw no use in wasting her energy when she saw no hope for escape. She looked down at the landscape below and saw what little remains there was of her parents’ home burning.”

“No!” a cry escaped from her, somewhat soft yet full of pain. Tears began streaming from her eyes, but she didn’t sob. Then she experienced a sudden tremble throughout her body and she broke down and wept.

“I’m not going to hurt you,” assured Lotor thinking she was scared.

“You’ve ruined my life!” And she sobbed some more. Then she continued, “Why me? Why’d you go out of your way to hurt me?”

“I didn’t ruin your life. I saved it because you’re beautiful. I was supposed to dispose of you. Together you and I will rule the Drule Empire. You’re life is just beginning.”

“Prince Lotor?” she questioned as she suddenly realized who he was and began to suspect that somehow her brother was connected with the recent happenings. “You monster! I’d never be with you!”

“That will change,” said Lotor simply resisting his urges to be harsh with words. Despite the harshness of what his actions had been by bounding her hands with material from her own dress, Lotor was trying to give her the impression that he wasn’t such a bad guy after all. He hoped that perhaps she may even bend later to show him some affection, and if not, then he’d just force her to do his bidding. Perhaps somehow she would satisfy his desires for Allura like Merla couldn’t.

Keith’s sister ignored him, not even really hearing his words anymore. Her sobbing had stopped into an eerie silence as she stared out one of windows by her side. The vision of her parents’ burning home, the essence of her memory of them, was all she saw as though it was seared into her mind and nothing else mattered or existed.

Keith caught another glance of Lotor’s ship just as it was entering the main Doom ship. He felt helpless to save his sister as he had to quickly turn his attention back to avoiding being destroyed by a robeast.

After docking his ship inside the Doom flag ship, Lotor took a hold of Keith’s sister’s arm and helped her out of the ship. Her expression and demeanor were despondent. She put up no fight and just did as Lotor guided her to do. He walked her to the control center of the Doom flagship where Hagar was observing how her robeast was doing in battle. At the sight of what Keith's sister knew was Keith's black lion, a new sorrow hit her. Not only had she lost her parents so long ago and only recently lost their home which she had so carefully taken care of in hopes they'd come back, but now she was witnessing another one of her greatest fears. She didn't know how she could possibly withstand it if she lost her brother on top of everything else. Tears flowed freely as she watched with an otherwise expressionless face. Except for her tears, she continued to be completely despondent in her agony.

On the battle scene, Keith finally saw the other four lions flying toward him, and he felt a glimmer of hope.

“All right team,” said Keith getting right down to business. “Ready to form Voltron. Activate interlocks, dynotherms connected, infracells up, mega-thrusters are go.”

“Let’s go Voltron force!” stated everyone at once.

“Form feet and legs,” continued Keith. “Form arms and body. And I’ll form the head.”

The lions roared in succession, one after the other. Then they all roared at once.

“Form blazing sword,” ordered Keith.

“Already?” questioned Lance as he and Pidge followed through on the command.

“This lobster’s done for!” was all Keith said in return.

“Oh no, Voltron!” complained Hagar watching the battle. “Time to leave the scene.”

Lotor was watching also as he stood beside Hagar and she began programming the ship to leave.

Meanwhile, the robeast had grabbed onto the blazing sword and red lion was in danger of losing it.

“This is it, team,” began Keith. “Everyone push hard.”

The forward force of Voltron caused the sword to start to cut into the robeast’s pincher. As it sliced into the lobster claw, the sword picked up momentum and had soon sliced all the way up through the arm, across the middle at an angle, and down the side of the other arm until it came out the other pincher.

The top half of the robeast slid down a little on the angle of the cut just before the whole robeast exploded.

Keith’s next foremost thoughts were to save his sister, and his thoughts were running on impulse as to how to go about doing that.

Commentary: This story uses facts previously revealed about Keith’s sister in the story Keith's Sister. Also figured after Lotor actually saw Keith’s sister, he’d probably fall for her. So I had Lotor spare her life. My original thoughts for this story were to have Lotor bring Keith's sister aboard the Doom flag ship and have her beside him as he and she would witness the destruction of Voltron. Of course, Voltron wouldn't be destroyed, but that would be Lotor's expectation. But, originally I had some complications with writing the story that way, and instead just had Lotor lock Keith's sister up in a room without her ever going to the control center of the ship. Turns out I should have stuck with my original story ideas because Keith's sister's experience in the control center of the Doom flagship was a key element in further stories I had written. To read the original flawed story, go here. The next story, Accidental Destruction, will reveal more of the key experiences Keith's sister has while present in the control center of the Doom flag ship.
